Spectacular Disney-themed Chocolate Easter Eggs at Disney’s Contemporary
Not to be out done by the Easter Egg display at Disney’s Grand Floridian, the team at Disney’s Contemporary Resort have created their own works of edible Easter art!
20 talented cast members from the Contemporary bakery team led by pastry chef, Jeff Barnes, have combined their talents, and spent the last four weeks creating our pieces of chocolate artistry. The cast members chose to recognize various Disney theme is from “Frozen Fever” to “The Little Mermaid” with meticulous and beautiful Easter egg designs. This year’s Easter eggs are made from white or dark chocolate and range from 8 to 25 inches tall, weighing from 10 to 40 pounds!
Each egg is decorated with edible products such as modeling chocolate, fondant, sugar floral, royal icing, color cocoa butter, and sculpted sugar are pieces.
Our favorites include the it’s a small world egg, which reminds us of our trip to Disneyland last year
and the Baymax egg — very clever!
We always love to see anything with Elliott from “Pete’s Dragon” since that movie was a childhood favorite. His egg-shaped belly is adorable!
And Olaf in the “Frozen Fever”-inspired egg is so cute!
They did a really intricate detailing on Anna’s birthday cake from Frozen Fever too.
Jack Skellington was simple, but perfect.
And Mike Wazowski had great crisp lines
We don’t think we have ever seen a Star Wars design in any of the Easter displays before. Cool!
Here are the rest. Kudos to the bakery team for another job well done!
You can view these wonders on the forth floor across from Fantasia Gifts and under the Mary Blair mural (the same location the annual holiday gingerbread display can be found).
If you are attending the Easter Brunch at the Contemporary today, you will see the display below outside the ballroom. We suppose Roger Rabbit is a friend of the Easter Bunny.
And if you are dining at The Wave, look for this pretty Easter display.
Happy Easter, all!
