Canadian Lumberjack Show First Performance
Epcot at Walt Disney World recently replaced long-time crowd favorite Off Kilter with a new Lumberjack competition show.
On Sunday, October 5, 2014 at 11:15am the new act gave their first performance in Epcot. The show was not listed on any of the park information guides, nor was it listed in the My Disney Experience app. This indicates it was a soft opening period. That basically means they are testing or practicing the act in front of real life crowds. There were tons of Disney Cast Members and management watching the first performance and observing the crowd, too. They will likely have some feedback for the performers and the show may change before it’s announced as an offical entertainment offering.
Here’s a look at the very first show:
The company putting on this show is Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show. They are local to the Disney area, coming only from St. Cloud, Florida. They have been around for 33 years performing their Lumberjack show in the Family Entertainment industry. The Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show has competed at logging shows and sport shows as well as performed at State and County Fairs, Festival, Sport Shows, Theme Parks, and Shopping Centers. They have even performed their lumberjack show in Japan, Europe, and Africa.
During the Epcot shows, you’ll see activities including chopping, sawing, axe throwing, dragster chainsaw and more. There will be multiple shows during the course of each day with different competitive activities featured each time.
Have you seen the Canadian Lumberjacks in person yet? What did you think?
