Shanghai Disney Resort Now Open to the Public
Right now, history is being made as Shanghai Disney Resort has opened it doors to the public for the very first time! We just watched the Grand Opening Dedication Ceremony on http://www.disney.com — Shanghai Disney Resort is officially open!
Andy has been working with the team at Shanghai Disneyland for some time in preparation for this day. Earlier this spring, he spent three weeks there working behind the scenes in the park, the hotels and in the corporate offices.
Working alongside the Disney Imagineers during the construction of a brand new Disney theme park was the experience of a lifetime!
Honored to be part of the Opening Team, Andy shared the following:
“Today, Cast Members and guests will be able to share in a historic moment that many of my peers and colleagues have been working toward for a very long time. Shanghai Disneyland Resort’s June 16, 2016 Grand Opening date is finally here! I am so proud to have played a part in this extraordinary achievement. With the gates now finally open, the cast of Shanghai are the proud hosts of a new a world of creativity and innovation backed by 60 years of experience in making theme park magic! Congratulations, Shanghai Disneyland!”

Andy is looking forward to an opportunity to return to Shanghai Disney resort, and I hope I’ll be able to join him next time.
Until then, we will join fans around the world in watching the “Grand Opening Celebration of Shanghai Disney Resort” television special on Thursday, June 16, at 8 p.m., on Disney Channel. It will also be simultaneously broadcast on Disney Junior, Disney XD and each channel’s App, and then it will air again Friday, June 17, at 10 p.m., on Freeform.
